Hugo (also known as Hugo 2) is a video game for the Amiga and DOS that was originally released in two parts as Hugo på nye Eventyr (Hugo in New Adventures) and Hugo på nye Eventyr - Del 2 (Hugo in New Adventures - Part 2) for the Amiga in 1991-1992. These were home releases of the Hugo TV game show scenarios at the time.

The compiled game was released in 1994 for the Amiga and in 1995 for the PC DOS, respectively known as as Hugo Amiga and Hugo auf Abenteuern in Germany. It was later repeatedly re-released as Hugo Classic #1, starting on 26 June 2000, including in the Best of Hugo series together with The Magic Oak.

Another Hugo game originally released as Hugo på nye Eventyr was published for the PC in 1995 (later known as Hugo 3).

Plot[]

Hugo PNE

Hugo must free his wife Hugolina and his three children from the hands of the evil witch Scylla, who keeps the family trapped in her Skull Cave lair. This is not so easy, because no matter if he goes through the forest or the mountain, rides a pump trolley, or flies a biplane, Scylla always puts new obstacles in the way for him with all her wiliness and magic. And after reaching the cave, the last task awaits him as he will have to correctly choose one of the three ropes to release his family, otherwise everything will be in vain and the witch will win.

Gameplay[]

The computer games can be played in two versions. One in the familiar TV version, the other in a more difficult Arcade version. The player needs to complete two minigame scenarios, followed by the Ropes endgame scene (Classic added Key and Lightning).
