Hugo: Jungle Island, also known as Hugo 7, is a 1999 video game developed and published by ITE Media for the PC. As in case of the other classic Hugo games, it was based on the new scenarios from the TV game shows. It was followed by Jungle Island 2 in 2000.

The game was titled Vulkanøen (Volcano Island) in Denmark, Dobrodružství v džungli (Adventures in the jungle) in Czechia, Viidakkoseikkailu (Jungle adventure) in Finland, Hugo 7 - Dschungelinsel in Germany, Tropikalna wyspa (Tropical island) in Poland, and Кузя в джунглях (Kuzya/Hugo in the jungle) in Russia. It was also repeatedly re-released as Hugo Classic #5 starting in 2002. The minigame Follow the Monkey was released as a standalone mobile game in 2003.

Plot[]

In her lair, Scylla is angry with her constant failures to kidnap the troll family, until she receives the Witches' Travel Catalogue, thanks to which she, upon seeing the Jungle Island, decides to take a vacation there, taking Hugolina and her kids with her of course. When Hugo comes home to see anything but his family, he jumps to the conclusion that they're in Scylla's lair, which proves not to be the case. Hugo at first doesn't understand, but he realizes what happened after stumbling upon the catalogue opened at the page in which the Jungle Island is shown. Hugo then flies his plane to the Jungle Island.

But little did Hugo know, Scylla had formed an alliance with the island's former governor, Don Croco. Shot down with a pineapple, Hugo's plane crash lands on a beach, where he meets Ferdinand the toucan and Jean Paul the monkey, who join in Hugo's quest to rescue Hugolina and his children.
