Labirynth is the original minigame of the Hugo franchise, introduced in the TV show Eleva2ren in 1990 and then turned into the video game Skærmtrolden Hugo in 1991. It was partially remade for Hugo Gold in 1998 and later completely remade as Hugo Retro Mania in 2011. The scenario is also used in Hugo Slot and appears in the TV series Alletiders Jul.
Gameplay[]
TV[]
The game consists of three parts. In the first section, Hugo navigates in a maze of a gold mine, collecting gold nuggets and avoiding mine carts and dynamite sticks with a time limit (represented as a lit fuse to a dynamite crate). In the second part Hugo has reached the exit of the labyrinth and now he has to cross an old bridge with huge holes. Eventually, Hugo finds himself in a cave with three doors and needs the player to decide which door to open to get into a treasure room.
In most version, Hugo is almost the only character. In some later revisions, used in Finnish and German TV programs, others (including Scylla and Hugo's kids) make brief appearances.
Remake[]
The remake features more dangers to avoid (including Scylla and Don Croco) and is more varied, featuring also dungeon, volcano cave, and ice cave areas.
Slot[]
The only interactive part is the doors part, here in four parts. It starts with a choice between two doors, followed by three and four, and in the end Hugo needs also to choice between the treasure chests.
